Cornerstone Sushi & Korean BBQ

Kamloops, BC

I wished for a Korean restaurant and Cornerstone Sushi and Korean BBQ far exceeded all my expectations.  We visited this restaurant in its first week of operation since opening up at the former Nayaab location in downtown Kamloops.  We went for their All You Can Eat lunch buffet.   Unlike the other Japanese establishments in Kamloops that offer an all you can eat product where you order from a menu, Cornerstone Restaurant is setup as a buffet where you can serve yourself.  The other exception is that Cornerstone is the first restaurant that gives Korean food the rightful place in their buffet and their regular menu.

I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of different items provided at the lunch buffet.  There was Kimchi Fried Rice, Bi-bim-bop bowls, Miso Soup, Yam and Veggetable Tempura, Edamame Beans, Kimchi, Kani Kani (Crab Stick Tempura), Buchimi (Korean Style Pancake with Vegetables and Seafood), Dak-Gal-Bi (Spicy Chicken with Vegetables), Gyoza, Chicken Kebab, Fruit Bowls, Udon Noodles and about 6 to 8 different varieties of Sushi and Sashimi.   All this for a very reasonable price of $12.99.

The staff was very eager to please and we really liked their gracious hospitality.   I have no doubt that this restaurant will quickly become my family’s preferred choice for lunch.  There is something for everyone and the lunch buffet is a very inexpensive way to sample some of their Korean menu items.     We have had some real good gems opening up lately in Kamloops and in my opinion, Cornerstone Sushi and Korean BBQ is ranked up there.
