Five Guys Burger & Fries
Welcome to Kamloops, Five Guys Burger & Fries and it took your new restaurant to convince me to break my self-imposed restraining order from going out to eat. And guess what, I consumed all those calories I saved from not eating out in one sitting tonight at your restaurant. But no, I am not grossed out as a result of eating at your restaurant!! As a matter of fact, my family very much enjoyed our meal and we left with our tummies full to its capacity and a much lighter wallet.
A friend of mine warned me about the big portions but he forgot to mention one little detail. I didn’t realize that their regular burger contained two beef patties as I would have opted for one of their Little Burgers. The kids ordered hot dogs and the adults ordered Big Burgers!! We got our burgers dressed all the way, which meant it came with mayo, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup and mustard. We ordered a large portion of Five Guy style french fries to share between us and upon seeing the size of the portion, we made a mental note to ourselves to order the regular size next time. The burgers were juicy and tasty but very messy and soggy to handle and required copious amounts of napkins to stay somewhat clean.
One note about food allergy. If you are allergic to peanuts, this place might not be for you. From the complimentary whole peanuts to the peanut oil that the french fries are fried, peanuts are found everywhere here. Their buns contain eggs, soy, dairy and gluten. Finally, if you are allergic to excessive amounts of calories, fat and sodium content, check out their nutritional information page located here. No wait, just go check them out first and then join a gym and sweat out any guilt or calories you get from eating here.
Five Guys, having said all that, we’ll be back for more but perhaps in about 6 months to indulge in our new guilty pleasure.
